The building’s total sale price was $1,435,000, of which $435,000 was donated to CMH on behalf of the Lums. We are incredibly grateful for the Lums and their continued support of both CMH and the local community. The building’s proximity to our main campus and its ample space made this donation and sale very meaningful, as CMH continues to expand health care services in the area. Immediate and future plans CMH will use the building immediately to expand our warehousing space that has been exhausted as we continue to purchase pandemic supplies and equipment, such as ventilators, N95 and other masks, exam gloves, gowns, sanitation wipes, and protective eyewear. “This building has been serving our community as an auto dealership for nearly a century; now it will continue its service and house our health care providers,” says David Lum, the founder of the family business, Lum’s Auto. “As a native-born Astorian, I feel very fortunate to support those who provide for the health and welfare of this amazing community. This donation will benefit our community for many years to come.” Bill Garvin, CMH Foundation President, says the Lum family’s support of the hospital and community has been exemplary. “We will do our best to use this gift to expand our ability to care for the community,” Garvin says.
