4 HEALTH COMPASS WINTER 2020 By Felicia Struve, Marketing & Communications Coordinator The CMH Medical Group & Urgent Care–Seaside aims to take the headache out of health care. The Seaside location is Columbia Memorial Hospital’s newest venture—following the CMH Primary Care–Astoria and the CMH-OHSU Knight Cancer Collaborative. “I have two school-aged children, so I know what a hassle it is to run here and there for doctors’ appointments, tests and prescriptions,” says Medical Group Director Jeanette Schacher. “Our vision is to provide convenient, whole- person care.” New convenient care location brings quality care closer to home CMH Medical Group & Urgent Care–Seaside is your one-stop shop for quality health care. One-stop shop CMH Medical Group & Urgent Care– Seaside is conveniently located on U.S. Highway 101 in the Seaside Outlet Mall and will be open seven days a week. It consolidates a wide variety of services in one location, including urgent care; specialty care; lab and imaging services; and a new CMH Community Pharmacy, which offers prescription delivery throughout Seaside. The medical team is made up of several Seaside-based providers and rotating specialists. They are supported by other professionals who work with you to help you achieve your health and wellness goals. Whole-person care Sometimes life gets in the way of us being our healthiest selves. Whether the hurdles you face are large or small, our caregivers are committed to helping you gather the tools you need to overcome them. The Seaside health center is CMH’s first to have a community resource desk. Caregivers at the resource desk will be experts on programs and services available in the community, says Allison Whisenhunt, manager of Care Management at CMH. They will be able to coordinate nonmedical care, including transportation, meal services and safe housing. Behavioral health consultants will also be on-site. They can help caregivers and patients with problem-solving. They are excellent listeners who are trained to help people make decisions and take action to manage their health.
