By Felicia Struve Across the CMH system, our medical teams have been upgrading their techniques, technologies and processes. “We’re constantly looking to bring innovative new technology and procedures to our community,” says Jeanette Schacher, director of the CMH Medical Group. “Here at CMH, we’re able to do most routine surgeries that you would find in a bigger city — and with the same level of quality, both from the surgeon and the technology.” Cutting- edge care CMH brings innovative medicine to you Expanding quality care for our community By Nicole Williams, COO It’s been a long time since CMH was just a hospital. Becoming the regional leader in rural health care has been a strategic initiative at CMH since 2018. In reality, we’ve been working toward that goal for the past decade and more, transforming CMH into a system of health to care for our community close to home. In the past few years, we’ve strategically expanded our services and clinics to better meet your health care needs. This year, we marked 10 years of partnership with Oregon Health & Science University, an affiliation that has allowed us to remain independent, yet grow our expertise exponentially. The past five years, especially, have marked a period of incredible advancement in the care available at CMH. Notable recent developments include the CMH-OHSU Knight Cancer Collaborative, CMH Primary Care – Astoria, and CMH Medical Group & Urgent Care – Seaside. Since last December alone, we’ve added 22 new providers from different specialties, with more expected next year. We’re particularly excited about the latest procedures and programs now available at CMH, including more vascular surgery options, interventional radiology procedures, comprehensive breast care, prostate care and laparoscopic (minimally invasive) surgery. With the global pandemic creating an unexpected time for all of us, caring for our patients and ensuring their comfort and safety is at the forefront of all we do. The future is bright, and we’re excited to continue bringing top-notch health care to our hospital and clinics in the Lower Columbia region. 4 HEALTH COMPASS FALL 2020
