Allison Whisenhunt, Director of Care Management and Behavioral Health: “Just hours before I received the vaccine, I was working with a patient in the Emergency Department who refused to wear a mask. Getting this vaccine is a choice, but for many of us, helping people who may not follow safety precautions is not usually an option. I’ve seen firsthand what this virus can do, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to not only protect myself and those I care about, but to also protect everyone in our community. The vaccine gives CMH caregivers a dose of protection and a boost in morale. Pam Johnson, Housekeeper: “I am so grateful for the opportunity to get the vaccine and be able to have COVID-19 be a thing of the past.” Jackie Spencer, RN, Emergency Department Nurse: “To be quite honest, I had my hesitations about the vaccine, given that it is so new. However, I trust in the science and believe that it is the right thing to do to protect my friends and neighbors. Although there is still a long road of masking and distancing ahead, after receiving the vaccine, I was overwhelmed with a sense of hope.” Lori Blake, Chaplain: “I was excited and thankful to receive my COVID-19 vaccination. It was a positive experience since it provides light at the end of a tunnel that gives me hope for health and healing. I so looked forward to my second shot!” Jeff Chow, PharmD, Outpatient Pharmacy Manager: “I was honored to be part of the team that is helping protect our staff and community from COVID-19. I believe the vaccine is our best chance to turn the tide on the pandemic. When it was my turn to receive the vaccine, I jumped at the chance.” Connie Dubb, MRI Tech: “I was anxious and excited at the same time to receive my vaccine. I was happy to do my part to help move us all past this pandemic. Getting the vaccine is a small part in moving forward.”
