Rachel Flescher, PA Rachel grew up in Waldport, Oregon. She chose to be a physician assistant as a youngster after a family member succumbed to cancer. “It instilled in me a passion to help people,” she said. Her professional interests include family medicine, pediatrics, women’s health and diabe- tes management. Rachel is currently reading Vaccinated: One Man’s Quest to Defeat the World’s Deadliest Diseases , by Paul A. Offit, MD. In addition to reading, she enjoys traveling, outdoor and water activities, and spending time with family and friends. Elizabeth Erikson, DO Dr. Erikson grew up in Montana but spent a week every summer on the Oregon coast visiting family. Although she originally studied art history, she found her way to medicine after working as a first responder on Ski Patrol. Dr. Erikson specializes in family medicine and focuses on practicing whole-person and whole-family care. She recently moved to Astoria and is reading Astoria , by Peter Stark, to learn more about her new home. She enjoys being outside skiing, hiking, swimming, discover- ing hot springs, and likes playing cribbage and trying local breweries. Kevin Baxter, DO Dr. Baxter grew up in Rexburg, Idaho. He loves working with people, and he enjoys challenges. “Medicine provides an endless stream of both,” he says. His professional interests include preventive health, end-of-life care and general family medicine. Dr. Baxter is currently reading The Feather Thief: Beauty, Obsession and the Natural History Heist of the Century , by Kirk Wallace Johnson. He is married, with two children and one grand- daughter. When he isn’t working, he likes to hunt, fish, ride motorcycles, kayak, hike and camp. Alexandra Armstrong, MD Before joining CMH, Dr. Armstrong attended schools in Texas, Louisiana and Illinois, and was a hospitalist practicing in Pennsylvania. She is a board-certified internal medicine physician. Her medical interests include wom- en’s health, preventative medicine and chronic medical issues. Outside of work, Dr. Armstrong enjoys running, reading, traveling and being outdoors with her husband.
