Erik Thorsen, MBA, CPA, FACHE, has been CEO of Columbia Memorial Hospital since 2010. Thorsen has worked at CMH for more than 20 years, previously serving as CFO and COO. Under his leadership, CMH has grown significantly, partnered with OHSU and achieved the distinction of being a Planetree gold-certified hospital. Thorsen has extensive experience in health care, including over 25 years in administration. During his career with CMH, he has overseen construction of the CMH Health and Wellness Pavilion and the CMH-OHSU Knight Cancer Collaborative. The hospital is currently undergoing a $300 million expansion to increase seismic resiliency, expand hospital service lines and add advanced technology. medical and radiation oncology, cardiology, orthopedics and more. The collaborative relationship with OHSU also allows providers access to an academic medical center and additional training and education options.
