Jarod Spencer, DPM Podiatrist, CMH Foot & Ankle Clinic Start date: December 2018 Podiatrist Jarod Spencer, DPM, joined the CMH Foot & Ankle Clinic on the recommendation of his former tutor, Michael Murdock, DPM. Before coming to CMH, Dr. Spencer worked with private podiatry practices in Illinois and Minnesota. He received his doctorate of podiatric medicine from Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine and completed his podiatric medicine and surgery residency at Aventura Hospital and Medical Center in Aventura, Florida. Dr. Spencer’s medical interests include wound care and prevention, limb salvage, diabetic foot exams, heel pain, and several conservative surgical foot care procedures including bunion, hammer toe and nail surgeries. He also enjoys caring for patients in skilled nursing facilities who may be unable to travel to a clinic. Dr. Spencer and his wife—who is also a podiatrist—are excited to be near family on the West Coast. When not working, he enjoys getting outside with his two Labrador retrievers and being active in the community. care partner Aaron Brown, DO Primary Care Physician, CMH Primary Care Clinic–Astoria Start date: January 2019 Aaron Brown, DO, enjoys small-town life and has practiced medicine in Clatsop County for two years. He is moving his practice to Astoria from Warrenton. Dr. Brown grew up in a small town in Kansas where his family doctor inspired him to pursue a career in medicine. “The family physician is someone you can rely on,” he says. “They’re a friend, an advisor, someone you can trust to support you in tough times.” His interests in science, physiology and Sherlock Holmes mysteries led him to earn bachelor’s and master’s degrees in criminology. He went on to earn his medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine at the Bradenton Campus in Florida, and he completed an internship and residency training at Verde Valley Medical Center in Cottonwood, Arizona. As a doctor of osteopathy, Dr. Brown believes in caring for the whole person and listening carefully to what his patients say. His medical interests include diabetes, health and wellness, sports injuries, blood disorders, and osteopathic manipulations. Dr. Brown has volunteered as the team physician for Seaside High School football. His wife is a teacher at Warrenton Grade School. They enjoy cooking, traveling, exercising, hiking, attending sporting events and playing with their pets. Kellie Edwards, MD Obstetrician-Gynecologist, CMH Women’s Center Start date: January 2019 Before attending medical school to become an obstetrician-gynecologist, Kellie Edwards, MD, had a 16-year career as a nurse on labor and delivery units. Dr. Edwards earned her medical degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine and completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Loma Linda University Medical Center in California. She has worked in busy OB-GYN practices in California for the past five years. Her medical interests include laparoscopic surgery, gynecological procedures, prenatal care, and labor and delivery. Dr. Edwards enjoys cooking, gardening, doing yoga and spending time with her three dogs. She has a daughter in college and a son. Need a doctor?
